Symptoms

There is a discrepancy between the total amounts in Expenditure Inquiry versus the total CIP amounts in Capital Projects summary.  Found that the expenditures from Expenditure Inquiry are not reflected in the Capital Projects summary.

Replication Steps

1. Projects responsibility > Expenditures > Expenditure Inquiry > Project or All.

a. In the Find Project Expenditure Items screen, enter the Project Number.  Click the Find button.

b. In the Project Expenditure Items screen, click the Totals button to see the total amount of all expenditures.  Or, export the data from the Project Expenditure Items screen onto an Excel spreadsheet and total the amount columns manually.  Note the total amount.

2. Projects responsibility > Capitalization > Capital Projects.

a. In the Find Capital Projects screen, enter the Operating Unit and Project Number. Click the Find button.

b. In the Capital Projects screen, note the amount in the CIP column.
