Can we use existing Grade Steps and Points within Grade Ladder setup?

There are lot of Grade Steps existing in the system and almost every one is assigned to a Grade Step. When trying to move to grade ladders.
The wizard to add Grade Ladders, can create a new Grade Steps, it does not allow for us to lookup existing grade steps.

Is there is different screen we can achieve this, or API which can be used.
