Last updated on AUGUST 29, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 12.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Attempting to import data into General Ledger (GL) from the Fusion subledger - Revenue Management
and the line description is reading Journal Import Created and not the line description expected.

STEPS
-------
1) Using General Ledger E-Business Suite (EBS) responsibility.
2) Navigate to Report -> Request -> Standard.
3) Query program - Import Journal Entries from Fusion Subledger Accounting and run this program.
4) The program will then do the following: (Reference: Technical Brief: R12: Oracle Revenue Management Cloud Service (RMCS) Integration with EBS Oracle General Ledger - Doc ID 2340471.1)
    • The ‘Import Journal Entries from Fusion Subledger Accounting’ program when submitted will trigger the child program - “Child (Import Journal Entries from Fusion Subledger Accounting- Subprocess)” and then the next child program – “GL Loader (GL Data Loader)” which import files from /tmp folder.
    • File names will be auto generated when downloaded from UCM through web service call and the file name will be like GL.txt, For example it will be GL213412.txt.
    • When the “Child (Import Journal Entries from Fusion Subledger Accounting-Subprocess)” is triggered it will import all files generated from the same source one by one into GL_Interface table.
    • Run ‘Import Journals’ by selecting the group related to ‘Revenue Management’ and relevant category to import the journals upon successful completion of the above programs.
5) Once data is imported to GL, query the journal via navigation: Journals -> Enter.
6) Find that the journal line description shows the value "Journal Import Created" and not the line description expected.

Due to this issue the journal line descriptions expected are not populated in the EBS GL.
