Transact Move Order Screen (INVTOTRX) Allows You To Save When Navigating To Another Form - May Have Error 'Overpicking is not allowed for WIP move orders' (Doc ID 2870594.1)

Symptoms

On : 12.2.6 Move ORders

Find issue when completing a Move Order, An error message is produced but the updates still go through when you navigate to another screen.

Customer believes this is why they may be seeing orphan records and over picking.

Error
Overpicking is not allowed for WIP move orders. Please ensure that the total quantity for all the allocations is less than or equal to the move order quantity.


Steps
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Inventory > Move Orders > Transact Move Orders > Allocate move order (Open Move Order allocation Screen)

2. Click Select Available inventory Button to open the SAI screen

3. Enter the required data – in this case reduced line one to 0 and actually over allocated which
actually should not be allowed. Click Done

Error is seen: "Overpicking is not allowed for WIP move orders. Please ensure that the total quantity for all the allocations is less than or equal to the move order quantity."

4. Now, do not change anything. Do not close the form. Navigate and open another form
with the “close other form” set (tools->Close other forms). For example open the on hand quantity form.

As the Move order had not been saved you get a message to save. Save. Transaction complete (Which is not correct, should be prevented

Notes:

a. Revisiting the MO allocation you can see the over allocation.
b. Other symptoms is that it can also save a zero quantity line and not remove the allocation.
c. When these line are transacted the MO now closed leaving orphaned lines.
