Last updated on JUNE 02, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Configurator - Version 12.2.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.2.1 version, Core For Fusion engine

When attempting to create CX with FCE ,
the following error occurs.

ERROR
-----------------------
Test Ref does not have a child with instance number

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Compile test CX and include in CX archive
2. Create a new model in Config Developer named "Test Ref"; convert to FCE
3. Create a node in the model (Boolean Feature, for example); generate logic;
create tree UI
4. Create another new model in Config Developer named "Test"; convert to FCE
5. Create a reference in Test Parent to Test Ref - instantiation is set to
required single instance (see attached structure screenshot); create tree UI
6. Create CX Rule in Test Parent bound to test CX
7. For CX Rule binding, start with both nodes bound to parent model
8. Generate logic; test; confirm the test will launch; cancel the
configuration
9. Now change the rule binding so second node is bound to the boolean feature
in Test Ref
10. Generate logic; test again; now the model will crash with "unexpected
error"
