View Accruals For Prior Years Get Recalculated When Having Updated Global Variable Value Used (Doc ID 2875268.1)

Last updated on JUNE 21, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Human Resources - Version 12.2 HRMS RUP14 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.2 HRMS RUP15 version, Personal Time Off Accruals

Customer own fast formula uses a global variable to enter/change the number employees.
That global variable is then read into the fast formula along with retrieving the accrual fast formula along with hours worked from element entries to calculate the actual sick leave earned.
Once the global variable changed, the calculation is incorrect starting Jan 1, 2022

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Navigation to the following to set up the Global value:

US HRMS Manager > Total Compensation > Basic > Fast Formula >
Global Values

Customer has an accrual plan for DC sick leave.
The hours allowed is based on the employee count and number of hours worked.
>25 and >=100 employees get 1 hr for every 37 hours worked (limit of 56 hours per CY)

2. Customer uses a global variable to enter/change the number employees.
That global variable is then read into the fast formula along with retrieving the accrual fast formula along with hours worked from element entries to calculate the actual sick leave earned.

3. Now, customer needs to move up to the next  “>25 and <100” range,
and they are finding that the accrual plan is not recognizing the datetracked global variable value.

4. Scenario #1:

From navigator or Home Page, click "Employee Accruals"

>On the "Assignments Folder" page,

>datetrack to 08-Jan-2021

> query the employee

> click "Accruals" button

> it calculates using the "end-dated" global variable value (end-dated 31-Dec-2021) which is correct.

5. Scenario #2:

From the navigator or Home Page

> click "Employee Accruals".

> On the "Assignment Folder" page

> datetrack to 07-Jan-2022

> query the employee

> click "Accruals" button. Result, it calculates using the "updated" global variable value (starts 01-Jan-2022) which is correct.

6. Scenario #3:

Still in the "Accruals" form from Scenario #2

> change the datetrack date back to 08-Jan-2021

> The accrual amount is no longer correct, it is retaining the 2022 global variable value.
