Processing A Return Receiving Transaction After Populating The Receiving Open Interface Tables Results In Error "Tried to modify quantity onhand at level other than locator or subinventory level" (Doc ID 2878520.1)

Symptoms

The following error message is seen the the PO_INTERFACE"_ERRORS table after a manually created Return Receiving Transaction is processed by the Receiving Transaction Processor (RTP).

Tried to modify quantity onhand at level other than locator or subinventory level.

Cause: The system has some type of error which tried to modify quantity onhand at a level other than locator or subinventory.

 The message name for this error message is: INV-WRONG_LEVEL.

Steps

  1. Populate table RCV_TRANSACTIONS_INTERFACE with the transaction.
  2. Populate table MTL_LOTS_INTERFACE table as this is a lot controlled item.
  3. Allow the Receiving Transaction Processor to process the transaction.
  4. See the error in the PO_INTERFACE_ERRORS table.
    SQL> select error_message from PO_INTERFACE_ERRORS where error_message like '%Tried to modify quantity%';
