MWA Assembly Completion Error For Serial Longer Than 30 Chars - BatchUpdateException: ORA-12899: Value Too Large For Column "INV"."MTL_SERIAL_NUMBER (Doc ID 2885976.1)

Symptoms

On : 12.2.11 version, Lot and Serial Management

Find following upgrade from 12.2.9 to 12.2.11 there is an issue with the MWA Assembly Completion process.
If the user enters a serial number longer than 30 characters, the following error appears:

 
After that, even if user enters a correct serial number (less than 30 characters), the same error appears


After the error appears, the completion transaction for any serial number cannot be performed, only after bounce the mobile server, work can be continued.

Steps

Paths to functionalities where problem exists:

1. Whse Mgmt -> Manufacturing -> Assy & Material Txn -> Complete Assy -> Complete
2. Whse Mgmt -> Manufacturing -> LPN Txn -> Assy Completion ->Assy Completion


1. Enter Job, Sub, Loc, Qty
2. In field SN enter serial number longer than 30 characters, for example : 000042363838000042363838000042363838. Error appears: 'Error :java.sql.BatchUpdateException: ORA-12899: value too large for column "INV"."MTL_SERIAL_NUMBERS"."SERIAL_NUMBER" '
3. In field SN enter serial number enter serial number less than 30 characters, for example : 000042363838. Error appears: 'Error :java.sql.BatchUpdateException: ORA-12899: value too large for column "INV"."MTL_SERIAL_NUMBERS"."SERIAL_NUMBER" '
