Symptoms

When submitting a Financial Statement Generator (FSG) report that contains XML output for Excel
through Report Manager the following error is encountered in  FRM_FO_GENERATOR: FO Generator log file :

XML-22004: (Fatal Error) Error while parsing input XML document (Invalid char in text.).

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Report Manager responsibility > Financial Report Submission
2. Run FSG report using Row Order in the Submission Parameters:
   2.1. Output in Excel is generated correctly
   2.2. Output in PDF is generated correctly
   2.3. Output in HTML is generated correctly.
3. Run FSG report without using Row Order in the Submission Parameters:
   3.1. Output in Excel > Nothing shows in the opened Excel report
   3.2. Output in PDF   > Error when open the PDF output: java.lang.NullPointerException in the Exception Details and the above XML-22004 error in FO Generator
   3.3. Output in HTML  > is not generated.
