Symptoms



During the installation wizard steps, when attempting to upgrade Knowledge Center 12.1.0.4 to 12.1.0.5 (ESP5) the upgrade fails with error:


ERROR

ADO SQL object could not connect to the specified source. Error: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen(SECCreateCredentials()).]SSL Security Error.


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Run 12.1.0.5 (ESP5) setup.exe as Administrator
2. Error message displays
