OPM Accounting Pre-Processor Gives Error When Processing Batch Close, "Scaling Error - No nonfixed ingredients for formula..." When the Only Ingredient in a Formula and Batch is Fixed Scale (Doc ID 2909617.1)

Symptoms

This issue occurs when using Standard Costing.

The business uses the same quantity of the only ingredient in a formula regardless of whether a small or large quantity of product is yielded. Therefore, they have marked the formula as scalable, the product scale type as Proportional, but the ingredient has a scale type of Fixed.

When OPM Accounting Pre-Processor (OPP) is run and includes a batch that uses this formula, the following error is seen in the OPP error messages.

ERROR

Scaling Error - No nonfixed ingredients for formula <formula number> version <version number>
Error during batch close for Plant <plant code> Batch <batch number>. Batch skipped.

STEPS

  1. Run OPP (OPM Financials > OPM Accounting Pre-Processor)
  2. Check error messages (from OPM Accounting Pre-Processor screen > Actions > View Error Messages)
