Negotiations Online Discussion Notification Does Not Show The Message Text (Doc ID 2947100.1)

Last updated on APRIL 05, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Sourcing - Version 12.2.5 to 12.2.12 [Release 12.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In Oracle Sourcing, when an online discussion message is sent, the notification does not contain the value of the "Message" field that was entered by the user when the online discussion was created.

It is expected that the notification will display the value of the "Message" field entered by the user.
Due to this issue, users cannot see the message details in the notification, and must log in to Oracle Applications and view the message details once inside Sourcing.

Steps To Reproduce

1. Log in to Oracle Applications.
2. Navigate to a Sourcing Super User or Sourcing Buyer responsibility > Sourcing > Sourcing Home Page.
3. Open the existing RFQ and select Actions = Online Discussions.
4. On the Online Discussions page, in the Messages region, click the New Message button.
5. On the Create New Message page, select the person(s) to receive the message, and enter the message "Subject" and "Message" fields.  Click the "Send" button when finished.
6. Back on the Online Discussions page, in the Messages region, see the message which has just been created.  The "message" detail is there.

7. Now the users have received the notification email about the online discussion with title = "For Your Information: Sent: Online Discussion Message for RFQ #####".
In the notification email body, the Subject value is visible, but the Message value is not displayed.

Changes

The issue is known to occur after applying Patch 33565303:R12.PON.D - In Oracle Sourcing, this patch resolves the issue of error when creation of an amendment.
It may also occur after applying other patches or upgrade.
