Unable to Delete Employee or Contingent Worker Contract Information in HR (Doc ID 2951023.1)

Symptoms

Problem Statement:

The red X delete button is grayed out in "Contracts" form.
When attempting to delete the contract record using API(hr_contract_api.delete_contract), following error occurs.

ERROR at line 1:
ORA-20001: You can not delete this contract as it is referenced by an
assignment.
ORA-06512: at "APPS.HR_CONTRACT_API", line 980
ORA-06512: at line 21

 

 

Steps to Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1.  Login with HRMS Manager responsibility.

  2.  Go to "Contracts" form.
     (N) People > Enter and Maintain > (B) Others > Contract
     
  3.  Red x (Delete) button is grayed out.

  4.  Error occurs when deleting the contract record using the API.
