R12: GL: Encounter Error "java.lang.NumberFormatException: null" While Updating Ledger Definition in Accounting Setup Manager

Symptoms
When attempting to update the ledger definition in Accounting Setup Manager (ASM), the following error occurs.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to the General Ledger Super User Responsibility.
2. Navigate to Setup > Financials > Accounting Setup Manager > Accounting setup.
2. Search for the desired Ledger.
3. Click on the Update icon for the Primary Ledger.
4. On the "Update Ledger: Ledger Definition" page in the Accounting setup, click on NEXT.
5. Re-test the issue.
