City of Jackson Michigan Local Taxes Withheld and Should Not be Withheld from Employee's Earnings (Tagged Earnings) (Doc ID 2956525.1)

Symptoms

An employee's paycheck and Statement of Earnings (SOE) includes a tax deduction for City of Jackson, Michigan local taxes.  This is incorrect, no deduction should be taken based upon setup.

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

Using US Super HRMS Manager or equivalent:

1. Change the Local income Tax Withholding Rule for Michigan to 'Only Withhold Tax at Work Location'

    Navigation: Work Structures > Organization > GRE/Legal Others > State Tax Rules for the State of Michigan

2. On the Entry Values of the Earnings Element, tag earnings for the Jurisdiction field. For example, enter: 23-075-0930 (State, County, City Code).
   
    Navigation: People > Enter and Maintain > Query the Employee > Assignment > Entries > Locate the Earnings Element > Entry Values.

3. Submit Quick Pay

    Navigation: People > Enter and Maintain > Query the Employee > Assignment > Others > Quick Pay > Submit the Quick Pay.

4. Observe on the Statement of Earnings (SOE) the City of Jackson, Michigan Local taxes are deducted.

    Navigate from current Quick Pay form > View Results > Statement of Earnings
