WebADI Spreadsheet Errors on Upload: SAXException during parsing of upload document/Start of root element expected (Doc ID 2966346.1)

Symptoms

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. (N) GL Responsibility > Journals > Launch Journal Wizard
2. Select General Ledger integrator and the desired layout. Click (B) Create.
3. Enter desired data, with junk characters in the 'Journal Description' field. Click Upload from menu option.
4. Error occurs when attempting to upload data from the template.
5. The error is shown in a the pop-up window.

Error:
Upload processing did not complete
SAXException during parsing of upload document. oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException; systemId: file:<filepath/filename>.xml; lineNumber: #; columnNumber: #; Start of root element expected.
