GLYCCJ2 Close Process - Create Income Statement Closing Journals
GLYCCJ1 General Ledger Close Process - Create Balance Sheet Closing Journals
Symptoms
General Ledger year-end closing process is performed using the two dedicated programs, Close Process - Create Income Statement Closing Journals / Close Process - Create Balance Sheet Closing Journals.
If the programs run multiple times for the same year-end, they create a similar journal after each run. This creates duplicated journals in the system.
The users would expect the programs to run incrementally and create a journal on a second run only if new data has been entered in the system after the previous program's run.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
- General Ledger responsibility > View > Requests > Submit a new request
- Run year-end closing programs, Close Process - Create Income Statement Closing Journals / Close Process - Create Balance Sheet Closing Journals
- Journals > Enter > Find > Observe the closing journals created in the system
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 in order to run the same program(s) again
- Journals > Enter > Find > Observe the closing journals created in the system again, so they are now duplicated
