Symptoms

As a Performance Plan Admin (User of "HR Professional V4.0" Responsibility), When trying to switch as a manager and In the Update Appraisal Page, when trying update an objective with details (Comments and rating) and save, following error appears

ERROR
-----------------------

"There is a duplicate performance rating record for the specified appraisal, objective and person. Cause: The combination of appraisal, objective and person that is specified already exists. This can be due to middle tier caching issue. Action: You may restart your application. If the error still persists, please contact administrator."

STEPS
-----------------------

1. Login using "HR Professional V4.0" Responsibility.

2. Navigate to function "Performance Management".

3. In the launched page, under the cluster "Switch Manager/User", click on the button "Switch as Manager".

4. In the launched page, search for the Manager, on behalf of whom we are supposed to act and click on "Action" icon against it.

5. In the launched page, click on the "Manage Appraisal" Task against the current active plan.

6. In the launched page, click on "Update" against the Appraisee record whose appraisal needs to be updated.

7. In the launched "Update Appraisal" page, under the cluster "Objectives", click on update against one of the objective.

8. In the launched page, select the performance rating against the objective and when click on "Apply", there was no error message and the application appeared to have saved the data keyed in. But when the application returned back to "Update Appraisal" page, in objective multi-grid it was observed that rating keyed in was not being shown. It was observed that, the rating done was not captured.

9. Now when plan admin (who switched as manager) click on "Update" against the same objective and re-key-in the performance rating against it and click on "Apply", got the above error message on the top of the page.
