In CLM iProcurement, An Error Occurs When Approvers Try to Edit a Requisition Amendment - The Entered Value Exceeds the Maximum Allowed Value Of 20 Characters (Doc ID 2993266.1)

Symptoms

In Oracle iProcurement with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) enabled, an error occurs when requisition approver tries to edit an amendment.

The entered value exceeds the maximum allowed value of 20 characters.


Steps To Reproduce

1. Log in to Oracle Applications as the requester user.
2. Navigate to a CLM iProcurement responsibility > iProcurement Home Page.
3. Enter a non-catalog request item, and Add to Cart.
4. Click the View Cart and Checkout, then the Checkout button.
5. Update the Requisition Number with required details.
6. Complete the remaining required fields, and submit for approval.

7. Log in to Oracle Applications as the approver user.
8. Open the approval notification from the Worklist, and click the Approve button.

9. Log in to Oracle Applicatins as the requester user again.
10. Navigate to a CLM iProcurement responsibility > iProcurement Home Page > Requisitions tab.
11. Select the approved requisition, and click the Change button.
12. Click the Amendment Checkout button.
13. Click the Edit Lines button.
14. Update the quantity for a line, Save, then click OK, then the Apply button.
15. Complete the checkout process and Submit for approval.  Note that the requisition number value has a length of 20 characters.

16. Log in to Oracle Applications as the approver user.
17. Open the approval notification from the Worklist, and click the Edit Requisition link.
18. Select the desired CLM iProcurement responsibility.  Now, the error message appears.

The entered value exceeds the maximum allowed value of 20 characters.


The workaround is to delete the requisition and start over again with a new requisition, but this is time-consuming and affects many users and is not a viable workaround.
