PM Not Forecasting For Meter Rules If The Date Rule Is End Dated (Doc ID 3002527.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 06, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Enterprise Asset Management - Version 12.2.10 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After end-dating the dates rule, even if the meter rule is still active, the PM will no longer be generating suggestions in the PM forecast.

In the PM log we see:

Exception calling PM: <pm_schedule_id> , hence skipping it and going to next PM node
java.lang.NullPointerException

Steps to reproduce:
1. [R] Enterprise Asset Management
2. [N] Preventive Maintenance > Schedule Definition form
3. Define PM with rule base and add both meter and dates rule (like weekly interval)
4. Run forecast and observe WOs are suggested.
5. Go back to PM Schedule definition and end-date the dates rule.
6. No WO will get suggested in the forecast no matter how wide we set the horizon.
