R12: AP: When Payables Invoice is Accounted a Negative Amount is Accounted for Item Line Reversal on Debit (Dr.) Side Instead of Positive Amount on Credit (Cr.) Side (Doc ID 3005471.1)

Symptoms

Negative amount is accounted for reversal of invoice item line in Debit side of Journal Entry.

When item line in Payables invoice is discarded and accounted, the amount accounted is negative on Debit Side.

It should be accounted on Credit side with positive amount.

Example: Invoice Item line created for $100 and discarded.

Current Accounting Entry

Item A/c Dr. -100

Liability A/c Dr. +100

Expected Accounting Entry

Item A/c Cr. +100

Liability A/c Dr. +100

STEPS
-----------------------
1. Payables > Invoices > Entry > Invoices > Create invoice
2. Go to Lines and Discard one item line
3. Actions > Validate and account
4. Go to Reports > View Accounting
5. Check that the amount accounted for the reversal is negative on Debit side
