"Serial Number - Select a valid number" Error When Trying To Update the Service Request (Doc ID 3015054.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to update the service request from the html page, the following error occurs:


Serial Number - Select a valid number


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Log in with Service Desk Analyst responsibility.
2. Go to Agent Dashboard and create a service request for a serial number.
3. Try to update the service request.
