Transfer Projects Data to General Ledger Along With Create Accounting Uses the Currency Rate Corresponding to the System Date Instead of the Transaction Date (Doc ID 3021722.1)

Last updated on MAY 14, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Project Costing - Version 12.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
PAXACCPB: PRC: Create Accounting

Symptoms

Assume a Projects transaction is created on April28.2024 (last day of the month) for the date of April25.2024 and then the Create Accounting program is run. The data passes to General Ledger module, however the currency rate used for the accounting conversion corresponds to the April28.2024 day (current/period end date) and not the April25.2024 date (transaction date).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Using a Projects Costing Responsibility > View > Requests > Submit a new request
  2. Run the concurrent program PRC: Create Accounting (PAXACCPB: PRC: Create Accounting)
  3. On completion, switch to a General Ledger responsibility
  4. Journals > Enter > Find
  5. Identify any Projects transactions created on the current date/last day of the month
  6. Check the currency rate used in the accounting process
  7. Setup > Currencies > Rates > Verify the currency rates identified in Step 6. > Observe the accounting used the month's last day rate (April28.2024, in this example) and not the expected transaction's date rate (April25.2024 in this example)
