An Element Was Paid Twice: Once in the Regular Pay Run and the Other Through Retropay
(Doc ID 3024037.1)
Last updated on MAY 24, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Payroll - Version 12.2.13 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
An element was paid twice - once in the regular pay run and the other through Retropay. This is seen in the statement of earnings (SOE) after the payroll runs.
Example:
From HRMS Manager responsibility or equivalent:
1) Run QuickPay for pay period 37 2024 (04-Mar-2024 to 10-Mar-2024).
Navigate: FastPath > QuickPay
2) Create an Absence for dates coming in the 37 2024 pay period (e.g. 05-Mar-2024). This creates an element entry in the 37 2024 pay period that was already processed in Step 1.
Navigate: FastPath > Absence
3) Run Quick Retropay (Enhanced) process with effective date 11-Mar-2024. A Retro entry for the absence is generated in element entries in next pay period 38 2024 (11-Mar-2024 to 17-Mar-2024).
Navigate: Processes and Reports > Submit Processes and Reports > Single Request
4) Run another QuickPay for pay period 37 2024 with Date Paid 11-Mar-2024. This pays the Absence entry that was created in Step 2.
5) Run Quick Pay for period 38 2024 (11-Mar-2024 to 17-Mar-2024) in which the retro element entry was created in Step 3.
6) Review the SOE and see the retro absence entry was processed in the 38 2024 period even though it was already paid in the second QuickPay for the 37 2024 period.
Navigation: FastPath > Statement of Earnings.
Business users are expecting that when the absence was already processed in the second QuickPay for period 37, then it should revert the Retro entries which were created and should not process retro leave entries.
