Last updated on JUNE 21, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Project Billing - Version 12.2.10 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In the Consolidated Invoice Review Page, after a user click the "Calculate Tax" button the following error is encountered (and is expected based on current setup):

Taxes are exempt or calculates to zero for this invoice

The users deselects the check box adjacent to the invoice and tries to search again several different ways, but the page will not refresh. The page continues to display an error at the top of the page:

Error
The search cannot be executed because the table has pending changes that would be lost.

The user has to log all the way out of Oracle and log back in to get rid of the error and be able to search again.

Steps:

1. Using a Projects responsibility, navigate to Projects: Billing-->Consolidated invoice review.

2. Find Consolidated Bill Group and Click on checkbox to select a consolidated invoice.

3. Click on the Calculate Tax button and observe that the page will not refresh.

Additional scenario where the issue can be reproduced:

1. Using a Projects responsibility, navigate to Projects: Billing-->Consolidated invoice review.

2. Find Consolidated Bill Group and Click on checkbox to select a consolidated invoice.

3. Click Calculate Tax button.

4. Error issued (as expected) “Taxes are exempt or calculates to zero for this invoice” (since this invoice has an exempt tax classification code).

5. Deselect the check box adjacent to the invoice. Try to search again in several different ways, but the page will not refresh. It continues to display an error at the top of the page:

Error "The search cannot be executed because the table has pending changes that would be lost”.

The user has to log all the way out of Oracle and log back in to get rid of the error and be able to search again.
