Last updated on AUGUST 12, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Assets - Version 12.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a depreciation method and life is added or changed for an asset, the standard options to be entered are "Life Years" and "Months".

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigate to responsibility: Fixed Assets.
2. Go to Assets > Asset Workbench > Book > Query an Asset.
3. Click on Books button > Depreciation tab.
4. In Method section the life of an asset can be entered in years and months, but not days.

The business justification is to add or change an asset that has a date placed in service of 1/13 and a life of 1 year and 137 days, but the only option for depreciation method is with year and month definitions.

Requirement is to load the Assets in Days.
Eg.: 60.5 months (5 years,0 months,15 days).
