Entering Special Information Types (SIT) Fails with "The combinations table for this flexfield contains more than one entry that matches the entered values" or ORA-01422 Error (Doc ID 3043584.1)

Symptoms

When entering SIT information, following error occurs.

APP-FND-01564: ORACLE error 1422 in FDFGCD

Cause: FDFGCD failed due to ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows.

The SQL statement being executed at the time of the error was: SELECT ENABLED_FLAG, SUMMARY_FLAG, NVL(TO_CHAR(START_DATE_ACTIVE, 'J'), 0),NVL(TO_CHAR(END_DATE_ACTIVE, 'J'), 0),SEGMENT1, ANALYSIS_CRITERIA_ID FROM PER_ANALYSIS_CRITERIA WHERE ID_FLEX_NUM = :num AND SEGMENT1 = :SEGMENT1 and was executed from the file &ERRFILE.

The combinations table for this flexfield contains more than one entry that matches the entered values. Inform your system administrator that the combination identified by the number <analysis_criteria_id> is duplicated.

 
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1.  Login as HRMS Manager responsibility.

  2.  Go to Special Information form. 
     (N) People > Enter and Maintain > (B) Special Info

  3.  Select the Name and enter SIT information in Details region.

  4.  Error occurs.
