When Creating a Sales Order for a Particular Customer, the Sales Order is Always Placed on Hold, Even Though Credit Exposure Shows There Are Available Credits for the Account (Doc ID 3050882.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 01, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Order Management - Version 12.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

For a particular Customer, sales orders are always placed on hold during new order creation with the order in 'Entered' status. When checking the hold details, there is a 'Credit Check Failure' hold on the order.

However, Credit Exposure Report shows there are available credit balances. When checking the Customer Profile set-up, 'Credit Hold' flags were unset at all levels and Credit balances were set only at the account level with the same amount that is shown in the Credit Exposure Report.

Since there are available credits, credit check failure should not occur and there should not be a hold placed on the order.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigate to the Sales Order form
2. Create a new Sales Order with the affected customer
3. Noticed that even though the order is in 'Entered' status, order is still placed on hold right away

Due to this issue, the order hold must be released manually for each order creation.
