Last updated on OCTOBER 02, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle HRMS (South Africa) - Version 12.2.9 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After running Payroll Run ZA process it has been found in the SOE Report that the seeded 'ZA_Voluntary_Tax' element (Voluntary Tax) is deducted twice in the same payroll period (in both Standard and Separate Run) for assignment(s) having net to gross element(s) attached.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Under ZA HRMS Manager responsibility or equivalent.
2. Navigate to People > Enter and Maintain > Query for employee which has net to gross element(s) > Assignment > Entries > Add ZA_Voluntary_Tax element with any Pay value.
3. Navigate to Processes and Reports > Submit Processes and Reports > Single Request > Run Payroll Run ZA process for current payroll period.
4. Navigate to View > Payroll Process Results > Query for above payroll process run > Assignment > Query for above assignment > SOE Report.
5. Observe that ZA_Voluntary_Tax element is processed in both main and separate run. This leads to the Voluntary Tax being deducted twice (pay value is doubled).
