Try to transact a serialized item that has a quantity onhand using the Miscellaneous Transaction Form but cannot see a serial number available.
The list of values for the serial number contains no entries.
The following error appears when the user types in the serial number.

Error

FRM-40212: Invalid value for field FM_SERIAL_NUMBER

-OR-

APP-INV-05577: The serial numbers are not available for use in this transaction

Expected Behavior

Expect the serial number to be available in the miscellaneous transaction form and to transact without issue.

Steps
1. Goto Inventory > Transactions > Miscellaneous Transactions
2. Enter the header information including the date, miscellaneous issue, and account.
3. Goto the line details.
4. Enter the item, subinventory, and quantity.
5. Press the Lot / Serial Button.
6. Enter the lot number.
7. Goto the serial numbers.
8. Attempt to enter a serial number, but cannot select any.
9. See the error message noted.

Note: The issue can also arise in other forms like Receiving (RCV) or Work in Process (WIP). For an example in WIP, see <Note 1290344.1>.

Business Impact
Due to this issue, users cannot issue the serialized item out of stores, or receive serials, as they appear already in use.
