Able To Delete Applied Credit Memo Leaving Orphan Application Records Which Can Lead to Either GL Transfer Process Failing With ORA-02290 or a Reconciliation Issue (Doc ID 364028.1)

Oracle Receivables - Version 11.5.10.2 and later

General Ledger Transfer Log file.

Symptoms

User is able to delete an applied Credit Memo resulting in orphan application row(s).

Depending on whether the data is posted, one of two scenarios can occur.

 

SCENARIO 1: IF ORPHAN APPLICATION ROW IS UNPOSTED

If the credit memo was not posted at the time of the deletion, when GL Transfer is run, the process will fail with error in ARLGPT: GL Transfer Logfile

Responsibility: Receivables Manager
Navigation: Interface > General Ledger
Run AR to GL transfer process
Error is returned in logfile

Oracle error in function 'argira'
AR-ARGLTP: -2290 ORA-02290: check constraint (GL.SYS_C00793619) violated
AR-ARGLTP: Error from argira
ARGLTP: Error from argicr

 

SCENARIO 2: IF ORPHAN APPLICATION ROW IS POSTED

Responsibility: Receivables Manager
Navigation: Concurrent Manager
Submit AR Reconciliation Report using Period Start/End Dates

Ending Balances in Report display for example as:

Calculated Total for the Period 5,500.00
Ending Balance as of DD-MON-YYYY 5,250.00
  ---------
Difference 250.00
