Temporary Files Not Removed From %APPLTMP%

(Doc ID 395880.1)

Last updated on JUNE 24, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Application Object Library - Version 11.5.0 to 11.5.10.2 [Release 11.5]
Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows

Symptoms

***Checked for relevance on 19-Nov-2013***

Temporary files generated by Concurrent Requests and stored in the %APPLTMP% directory are not removed from the file system upon completion of the Request. These files contain information of the Concurrent Request like shown in the following example:

P_CONC_REQUEST_ID=3372103
report=d:\oracle\vispb01appl\fnd\11.5.0\reports\US\FNDSCURS.rdf
userid=APPS/APPS
batch=yes
destype=file
desname=d:\oracle\vispb01comn\admin\out\vispb01_pbreugel\o3372103.out
desformat=PDF
errfile=d:\oracle\vispb01comn\temp\OF1A2C.tmp

Due to this problem, the number of files in the %APPLTMP% directory keeps increasing continously.

The filename of these temporary tiles are always of the OF%.tmp format in which the % will be a randomly generated value of numeric and alphabetical characters.

Note: the problem is port-specific meaning that it only occurs on Oracle Applications running on Windows (e.g. Windows 2003 Server).
