FORM:INVIDITM.FMB - Define Item Information

Goal

How does one migrate serial numbers to generation at Sales Order Issue when onhand exists for the current setup of serial generation at receipt?

BACKGROUND
After the switch, must ensure that any serial numbers previously onhand can still be used for the same items.

EXAMPLE
Item: ABC
On hand Quanity: 1 Each / Piece
Serial Number: 5678
Current Serial Generation: At Receipt
Desired Serial Generation: At Sales Order Issues

BUSINESS IMPACT
This issue impacts companies changing serial control to At Sales Order issue and have onhand quantity for those items.
This is especially important if the serial numbers must be reused.
For example, the serial numbers might be etched into the product and cannot be changed physically.
Must ensure that the new serial generation uses the same serial number previously used.
