Error Cannot Display Page After Returning From Punchout And Oracle Session Expires (Doc ID 464655.1)

Last updated on APRIL 20, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle iProcurement - Version 11.5.10 to 12.2.5 [Release 11.5 to 12.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

If time spent during iProcurement punchout exceeds the session timeout value, and error will occur
when the user returns to iProcurement.  Is there way to avoid this timeout error?

Users connect to supplier using iProcurement Punchout and shop. After shopping they come back to
Oracle iProcurement and checkout their cart. However, when shopping for multiple items
users may take around 45-60 minutes in completing this process. The ICX:Session
Timeout and timeout in zone.properties is set to 30 minutes for E-Business Suite. When users return
from punchout they are presented with the login screen and an error message occurs. They lose their
entire shopping cart at this time and this causes delays in iProcurement.

Error:

You cannot complete this task because one of the following events caused a loss of page data.

Possible Causes:
1. You have left your login session idle past the timeout period.
2. A system failure has occurred.
3. The application server is incorrectly configured and does not send a session cookie to the
client browser.

Steps To Reproduce:
1. Login to iProcurement
2. Click on Punchout Store
3. Login into Suppliers website
4. Shop for time greater than defined in ICX:Session Timeout profile,
5. Come back to iProcurement, error is raised.

Business Impact:
Users lose their entire shopping cart after the error and this causes delays in procuring items.
They have cutout times for PO's and also might have emergency orders to be placed.
