How to track Comments field In Sales Order Form > Line tab?

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Client want to use the 'comments' field on the order lines field to track some of the changes. The
comments field is available for update when making the changes. But the data in this field is not
available when the order is re-queried after the changes are made.
Where in the database is this column stored? What needs to be done to be able to see the data in
