Fonts Not Displayed in expected format Properly, When Reports Output Displayed In Post Script (Doc ID 557781.1)

Symptoms

One has developed some custom reports, that have been incorporated with font styles like Bold,Italic with output format as postscript in the concurrent program definition, but when it submitted from applications, it does not display in bold, italic, etc. It always prints in normal font.

This was working fine earlier and there is no major recent change on the instance.

The old reports that are developed earlier works fine, unless one modifies something on this or rename the RDF file.  If one does some change it will also cause this.

Expected Behavior
Font should be displayed in the appropriate format.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Under FND_TOP/report/US,they has modified the standard report “FNDSCURS.rdf” with some font format change in the label.

2. Then placed the modified RDF file in to the server.

3. Changed the output format of Active Users report as Postscript, and submitted the same from System administrator responsibility.

The report output is in .PS format and hence one uses Ghost Viewer to see the output.

4. The report completed successfully, but it does not reflect the fonts with respective styles.


The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, user's development was affected.
