Custom External Status Not Working Across Domains (Doc ID 750433.1)

Symptoms

-- Problem Statement:
Created custom external status is not visible and working cross domains with read/write grants, the following error occurs when trying to change an object status that is created in different domain than the custom status domain:

Error Exception Invalid status value ---- specified in Set Status

-- Steps To Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1- Create a domain. (X for instance)
2- Create another domain. (Y for instance)
3- Login to the X domain and navigate to Configuration and Administration > Domain Management > Domain Grants > Grant Read/Write permission to Y domain.
4- Login to Y domain and navigate to Configuration and Administration > Domain Management > Domain Grants > Grant Read/Write permission to X domain.
5- Login to X domain and navigate to Configuration and Administration > Power Data >
General > Status Types > Create new status type for Order-Base object (X-Y for instance).
6- From X domain create an Order Base. Then go to Actions - Change External Status -  use the created
status and value IDs.
