Symptoms

A descriptive flexfield has been set up in according to the business requirements. Due to these actions, it is not possible for the application to generate the Descriptive Flexfield View.

An example of the descriptive flexfield named Party Information which has been set up with a single segment under the context Global Data Elements and which fails to generate the descriptive flexfield view.

  1. Check the Freeze Flexfield Definition checkbox
  2. Click on Save
  3. A note is displayed:

    4. Notice the variation in terms of line number on which the error was encountered. On 11i is occurs on line 160 whereas on Release 12 the failure is encountered on line 165.
