Newly Defined Budget Shows Funds Available Before Uploading Any Data (Doc ID 779877.1)

Symptoms

A new Budget has been created in General Ledger module and a new Organization for it. No budget amounts or journals were uploaded yet, however the users noticed there are already budget amounts available for this new Budget.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

  1. General Ledger responsibility > Budgets > Define > Budget > Enter details to create a new Budget
  2. Query for an existing Budget > AutoCopy
  3. Enter the details for the newly created Budget and Save
  4. Budgets > Define > Organization > Define a new Organization 
  5. Do not load any data for this Budget and Organization
  6. Inquiry > Budget > Show Balances > Verify the balances for this Budget and observe some balances exist for it (you may also check the balances directly in GL_BALANCES table)

Changes

 New Budget created using AutoCopy function.
