Item Validation Resulted In Error(S) When Using A Customer Part Number On Order (Doc ID 791199.1)

Last updated on MAY 10, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Order Management - Version 11.5.10.2 to 11.5.10.3 [Release 11.5.10]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On 11.5.10.2:
When attempting to enter a customer Part Number in the Ordered Item field in the sales order.
The customer part number is cross-referenced to one of our part numbers.
When entering the customer part number, that Part Number turns red and states "APP-ONT-251402: Related Items Exist".
Enter the remaining information on the order line and try to save and get the error "Item Validation Resulted in error(s)" and it will not allow the sales order line to be saved.
Only items that are cross-referenced AND have an Item Relationship give the errors.

Have verified that the customer cross-reference is setup in both master organizations and is enabled.
Have also found an Item Relationship setup between the Internal Item and another internal item that seems to be correct.

ERROR
APP-ONT-251402: Related Items Exist". and "Item Validation Resulted in error(s)".

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Customer Part Number cross-reference is setup
2. Enter sales order line using customer part number as the Ordered Item
3. Ordered Item turns red and gives message APP-ONT-251402: Related Items Exists
4. Enter remaining information for sales order line and get message "Item Validation Resulted in error(s)" and cannot save the line.
