The purpose of this note is to assist users in understanding how the Release 12 E*Business Tax (EBTax) module calculates taxes, how the overall upgrade process works and how to validate and troubleshoot problems that surface after you have completed your initial test upgrade from 11i to R12. This document is intended to supplement, not replace, the existing R12 EBtax Implementation Guide and Users guide. We also strongly encourage users to review chapter 3 of the Oracle Financials and Oracle Procurement Functional Upgrade Guide: Release 11i to Release 12
We are actively trying to build up participation in our EBTax community. We'd love your input, ideas, collaboration and solutions to be part of the experience. Check us out at on the E-Business Tax communities page
Additional details about the R12 upgrade can be found in the E-Business Suite Upgrade Center (<Note 461705.1>)
This document does not cover Latin Tax engine or other localizations and globalizations. Also, while some components of this note apply generically to the E*Business tax module, this note has been written with a focus on Order to Cash flows
