R12 Using Select Available Inventory Error Quantity On Hand Fails To Satisfy Reservation (Doc ID 838400.1)

Symptoms


When reserving stock to a Sales Order, you are finding that Lots will appear to be available when viewed using the "Select Available Inventory" form, but will then cause an error to be displayed when you select them and try to Save the transaction.

The message is:

Quantity on hand fails to satisfy reservation


Steps To Reproduce:
- Create and book Sales Order
- From Sales Order line choose : Tools > Scheduling > Reservation Details
- Choose 'Select available inventory'
- Enter Quantities against available stock
- Select <Done>
- Save

Error displays.
