R11 R12 How to Search and Sort Multi-Row User Defined Attributes? (Doc ID 848582.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 15, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Project Foundation - Version 11.5.10.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Under Attribute Groups, create Attribute Group. Add several sequences under the group.
Under Attribute Context, choose Class Code and add Attribute Group.
Under Project List, choose Project and go to Setup.
Choose the created Attribute Group.

When a line is added, the line gets added to the end. For example, if there are lines 1 though 6, when another line is added, the application just puts the line at the end at Line 6. Using Maintain Unique Index does not seem to make any difference. The line is always added to the end of the rows.

When using User Defined Attributes with a screen using Multi-row the data is displayed as first in, first out. There is no search or sort function to limit the list of data display on the screen.

Search and Sort function on a User Defined Attributes multi-row will allow users to review data in a logical order and find retrieve any entries to be updated.

The first sort or presentation needs to be in function of the Unique key pre-defined when you define the UDA screen.
