Goal

The E-Business Suite tech stack creates numerous log and temporary files during normal operations. These files may accumulate in your system, unnecessarily using disk space. Maintenance of these files is not handled by any processes in the E-Business Suite.

This note identifies the location and file names of many of the temporary and log files found in E-Business Suite environments, as well as describing which processes generate the files. This note is intended as a guide to help DBA's identify and manage these files.

Finally, sample scripts are provided, to be used as a basis for custom clean up scripts which can be created and run on a periodic or scheduled basis. You must review and modify theses scripts to suit the environment and to meet unique retention needs.
