Symptoms

ACH payments posted twice. When the fist payment got error out with 504-Gateway Error, system posted the transaction in the database. Since the response is an error user submitted the same payment again and it got posted.

ACH Payment is present with PMT_STATUS_CD = P and PRIMARY_IND = Y posted by webservice channel.

Another PMT_STATUS_CD = R and PRIMARY_IND = N. User submitted the payment that was errored got reposted.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Process ACH payment through webservice
2. If the payment process is timed out with Gateway 504. Submit the payment transaction request once again
3. check the transactions posted
