US-SAR: Clicking Save Without Editing Anything, Action Is Still Recorded In Audit (Doc ID 2950498.1)

Last updated on MAY 26, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Financial Services Regulatory Reporting - Version 8.1.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The audit Tab is getting updated although the user didn't perform any edit and hit on Save. This will lead to an Audit issue if a user accidentally hits the Save button while viewing the report to which the user is not Assigned To. An unnecessary entry will be made in the Audit tab although no change was performed by the user.
In the tabs - "Filing Institution Information", "Suspicious Activity Information", and "Subject Information" when the user hits "save" without modifying and information, Audit would log the changes even though no modifications were performed on these tabs.

Only in Narrative Tab, when a user doesn't perform any edit and clicks on Save, the system is displaying the message correctly as 'Nothing to Save'. This behavior is correct and should be consistent across the application.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Login to CRR application
2. Open any report
3. Click on save without editing anything
4. Pop-up shows operation successful and make an entry in the audit tab
5. However, in the narrative if there is no change to the previous value. the pop-up appears saying ' nothing to save'. The client is expecting same behaviors in the application across all tabs
