Click on Create Opportunity Gives "The value of the attribute Currency is not valid" Error

Symptoms
The following issue happens in the Opportunity Summary pages
When attempting to click on Create icon for Create Opportunity, the following error occurs.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. login to applications
2. goto Navigator > Sales > Opportunities
3. click on Actions > Create or directly Create icon
4. there is an error displayed

The value of the attribute Currency is not valid.
5. click on OK for this error
6. again click on Create
7. this time there is another error displayed

Server Instance: SalesServer_1, Application Name: SalesApp.
8. click on OK
9. click on Create again
10. there is the same error message
