Symptoms

On : 11.1.10.0.0 version, Close Accounting Period-Close Ledgers

New values were added to a value set for a segment in the chart of accounts, after this, the Flex fields are deployed and the process 'Update Balances Cubes Chart of Accounts Dimension Members and Hierarchies' submitted, but the job ends with error Essbase Error(1007083). When trying to Open a GL period fails with Error Code:1003014, since the new dimensions were not successfully added to the cubes.The Key Flex Fields shows that for a segment of the Chart of Accounts the name, description and short prompt do not match the segment code, which is used as a default when the account configuration is uploaded from excel. For example, if a segment code is Local_Product, the name, description and short prompt will have the same value.

Accessing the Inquire and Analyze Balances from Financial Reporting Center also shows error: Essbase Error(1260046): Unknown Member 'Segment Name' used in query. The 'Segment Name' matches the name for the segment changed after the account configuration was submitted.

STEPS

1. After account configuration was submitted, change the segment name, description and short prompt.
2. Add new values to the value set used by a segment changed in step 1.
3. Deploy Flexfields.
4. Run the Update Balances Cubes Chart of Accounts Dimension Members and Hierarchies and the job fails with error: Essbase Error(1007083): Dimension build failed. Error code [1090003].
5. Open a GL period and the job fails with error: Error(1003014) Unknown Member ['Segment number' - 'Value'] for the segment used in step 1.
6. Access the Inquire and Analyze Balances from Financial Reporting Center show error : Cannot perform cube view operation. Essbase Error(1260046): Unknown Member 'Segment Name' used in query. The 'Segment Name' matches the name for the segment changed in step 1
