Goal
To configure kdump inside an Oracle Linux 6.3+ HVM guest ( domU ) using the Redhat Compatible Kernel ( RHCK ). This configuration is not supported in earlier Oracle Linux Versions or with the UEK kernel.
Due to addition of the following patch
Requirements:
- kernel-2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64 until kernel-2.6.32-524.el6.x86_64
- kexec-tools-2.0.3-3.0.1.el6.x86_64 or later ( remove older versions including /etc/kdump.conf before installing )
- For Oracle VM 3.x, please ensure a xen version later than xen-4.4.4-107 on the dom0 ( Oracle VM 3.4.2+patches )
