Goal

Within Oracle VM, it is possible to present ASM disks (non-RAC) as virtual disks (small piece of a larger LUN in a repository within Oracle VM), or to present them as physical disks to the VM (separate LUNs per ASM disk).
What is the preferred way to present the disks to the virtual machine for Oracle when using ASM, and why ?
